Svetlin Sofroniev - “Wherever I Am” - watercolor May 13 – June 1, 2025

Svetlin Sofroniev “Wherever I Am” watercolor May 13 – June 1, 2025 opening: May 13 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Nuance Gallery is pleased to present the exhibition “Wherever I Am” by watercolorist Svetlin Sofroniev. The opening will take place on May 13, 2025, and the exhibition will include works that take us to the border between the real and the experienced. After Svetlin Sofroniev’s memorable participation in the Watercolor Biennial 2024 in the space of Nuance Gallery, the audience will now have the opportunity to get to know him through a solo exhibition. “Wherever I Am” is a personal and at the same time universal invitation to the viewer to touch the unadulterated world of the artist. Svetlin Sofroniev is an author with a characteristic approach in which reality and emotion intertwine in expressive visual poetry. The themes in his works – industrial structures, cityscapes, natural landscapes – are driven by a desire for experience, not literal documentation. In the exhibition “Wherever I Am”, each image is a trace of presence, captured light, part of an inner geography. The exhibition is based on the feeling of light, memory and place. This feeling is most accurately expressed in the words of the artist himself:

“Every view I paint is a trace of presence. It could be an old car, a rusty surface, a reflection in water or light on a building – I didn’t look for them, I just happened to be there. Not every landscape is a place. Sometimes it’s a feeling, and the light is what remains. Not the place, not the form – but the glint on metal, a golden edge on the water, the soft morning behind a window. Each image is part of an inner geography. These are the places of me. Wherever I am – what remains, remains forever.”
