Garo Muradyan - “Stories of Parallel Worlds”
Garo Muradyan “Stories of Parallel Worlds” painting June 24 – July 13, 2025
From June 24 to July 13, Nuance Gallery presents Garo Muradyan and his parallel worlds. Garo Muradyan is an artist who loves to think, to tinker and to play with the canvas. He is interested in the themes of man and his place in the world. When he applied to the National Academy of Arts, he chose the specialty “textiles” – one of the few specialties at that time in which there was space for the abstract, a space without party orientation. He was accepted into the studio of the great Prof. Marin Varbanov and spent his entire studies in his aura.
“The energy of the world-famous Marin Varbanov, of the great talent – we absorbed it” – says Garo Muradyan. His painting teachers are Prof. Ignat Ignatov and Assoc. Prof. Hristo Stoychev. He graduated from the National Academy of Arts in Sofia in 1984.
The current exhibition opens up a topic that has been exciting the artist's mind since his childhood. Universal and never fully clarified, reflections on parallel realities are probably intuitively embedded in each of us. Through his paintings, Garo Muradyan explores hypotheses about what these worlds could look like and reaches a visualization of his own creative vision on the subject.
Here is how Garo Muradyan himself describes his inspirations and views on parallel worlds:
“I always imagined as a child that when a person dies, he goes there – to unknown parallel worlds. I always wanted, even if only for a little while, even for a hundredth of a second, to catch a glimpse of these worlds, but alas… After years, I felt that when a person makes art – music, visual arts, poetry, theater, cinema, etc. – he is subconsciously transported to another world; otherwise this would not be possible. I am convinced that art and imagination save people’s souls – we go to another dimension and this is the “parallel world.”
Garo Muradyan works in the field of painting, theater scenography and, years ago – monumental textiles. He has participated in over 50 solo and group art exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad. His last solo exhibition at the Nuance Gallery was in May 2017. His paintings are in private collections in Bulgaria, Germany, Belgium, France, Italy and the USA.
